Mindy Belloff produces fine printed
book editions as proprietor of Intima Press on Union Square in NYC. A mixed-media installation and book artist, Ms. Belloff
creates layered personal narratives, sensitively integrating text and imagery. By sharing her intense emotional struggles in her artwork,
she makes us conscious of our own inner world.
In January 2005, Ms. Belloff opened her newly set-up Print Shop to artists, writers,
and students of all levels of experience, and runs letterpress printing and book arts workshops from Studio on the Square. Studio
on the Square is committed to helping artists develop their work in book form and teaching elegant letterpress printing and handsetting
type, as it has been handed down for over 5 centuries. Intimate classes (most limited to 4 students) allow for individual attention
much like an apprenticeship in Gutenberg's shop. With an emphasis on the Art of the Book, students are encouraged to free up their
thinking & experiment through their art. The Studio prides itself on cultivating creativity within a unique environment where
artists engage in the rewarding processes of combining text and imagery. The Studio’s teachers are friendly professionals who are
at home in the studio and generous with their knowledge. Open dialogue, & process along with product, distinguishes Studio on
the Square workshops.
