I'm Dennis Bryans in Melbourne, Australia. I started printing
letterpress c1995. A few greeting cards at a time. I have not printed much recently as I am busy writing a history of a Melbourne
firm The Specialty Press 1905-1979, (letterpress and offfset printers). I hope to publish this book in 2005.
I studied fine art
in Ballarat, London and Melbourne, followed by a graphic design degree, and taught graphic design and typography until 1996, when
I gave up teaching to start a small publishing business called Golden Point Press.
A move to begin letterpress printing again
is about to happen as I have finally got my garage organised and will soon be moving a press in. First letterpress project? — A biography
of a Victorian Typographer.
