A little about me:
I've lived in Vancouver
Washington all of my 33 years and love it here. In a drive of less than two hours I can hike and bike the Columbia River Gorge, snowboard
Mt. Hood, hike to the rim of the only active volcano in the continental US, or stroll the beaches and hike the rocky outcrops of the
Pacific Ocean. Soon I will build a wooden kayak (once there's room in my garage), head to the Puget Sound, and paddle with the Orca
whales. There is much to see and do in this area and I hope to spend more time enjoying what is offered here.
A little about
Jazyrain:
Having had my fill of web design code and uninspiring corporate graphic design work I made the decision to take a huge step
backwards, a little over 100 years in some cases, and refocus on what it was that truly inspired me as a designer- amazing paper and
beautiful typefaces.
Letterpress printing feeds all my desires at once. I love working with my hands, figuring out the mechanics
of how things work and making them work better, playing with some very fun and fine papers, and perusing type source catalogs and
dusty type cabinets for the perfect face. I can't leave out my Mac, photopolymer plates ensure that my new G5 will not sit and collect
dust because I still like to create with my digital tools as well.
