Began writing poetry,
which by 1971 became song writing, in the early days of the "Jesus Movement", wrote praise and worship songs for our bible studies
. . . rock & roll songs, that is . . . I still play, write, and tour with my band "Walk This Way" ( see us at "Light Up
Ocala" Nov. 20th at Cafe On The Rock.)
Being a Florida Licensed Optician puts food on the table, and being a ham radio operator since
1977 provides an outlet for yet another vintage form of communication: 1920s - 1940s tube radio. I build my equipment from tubes and
discrete parts of this era. Call: WD4NKA. This endeavour provides a unique merging of the Letterpress, because the early
"QSL Cards", or radio/ wireless station cards used to confirm contact or reception were printed, in the main, via the good ol' platen
press. These cards are collectable today, and i print these cards for hams around the country following the 1920s era formats.
I learned english spelling in europe, and still fight over whether to spell colour or color, exersise or exersize, put the month before
or after the date, is it Aluminium or Aluminum ? and speak in a quasi euro-american-southern accent that drifts in
and out, depending
if i hang out with my brit mates or the swamp chaps ( the local crackers i grew up with.)
Right now i am supposed to be the printing
point man for the Florida Pioneer Settlement of the Creative Arts, but working 2 jobs is taking a toll on my availability. I
hope to remove the Settlement's 7 x 11 Pearl to my home soon, and will have an active shop in conjunction with the settlement museum.
This way i can produce items in my available time from the house.
I also seldom use upper case for personal pronouns, for some
reason, and often use code prosigns and abbreviations. Old code copying mill habit.
