I started as a Comp in 1953 in a medium sized shop
that had 2 Linotypes, Ludlow and Elrod. The press room had 3 large flat bed Miehles and 3 Vertical miehles, Heidelberg Cylinder and
Platen. I went from there to different job and newspaper shops doing imposition and learning the Linotype. Left the trade in 1975
and did my enrolled nurse training, still do casual work at nursing.
I now live in Gulgong a town of 2,000 in NSW Australia and
run the Olde Time Print Shoppe at Gulgong Pioneers Museum. We have a Intertype C3, Linotype 15 & 48, Ludlow and hand set.
Presses we have a 1870's Wharfedale cylinder press, Albion 1869 hand press, 3 C&P's, V50 Miehle Vertical and a 1949 Heidelberg
Platen.
Born in 1938 educated to 3rd year high school, then Sydney school of Graphic Arts. I also have a small shop at home
C4 Intertype, Ludlow and 10x15 C&P and hope to pick up a Miehle Vertical or Heidelberg Platen.
