How you got involved in Letterpress Printing:  When I was planning my wedding, I got very excited about doing my own wedding invitations, did my own as well as 4 others that year.  I then learned about letterpress.  I found my mentor - Carl Montford in West Seattle.  He has taught me everything I know.  His specialty is wood cutting.  He helped me find my first C&P and set up my studio.  I took what I learned from him over the last 5 years and bought myself a boxcar base.  I unfortunately do not do any woodcutting, but built on my strengths with computers.  But I love doing it.  I know the old timers (this terminology meant lovingly)- cringe at the way we print into the paper, but that is a look that I love.  I do appreciate the way they kiss the paper.  My mentor, used to cringe, but has now learned to enjoy seeing what I print.  I print mostly wedding stationery.
