How I Got Involved in Letterpress Printing: I was in a graduate program for writing when I saw a class listing for "Poetics of the Page" - a beginning letterpress class. I thought it would be a nice way to work with my poems and another "craft" to notch in my belt. Nice? Craft? I fell in LOVE with the work – the mess, the ink, the mechanics, the detail, and most importantly, the beauty of the well-done run – and I now consider it an extension of my writing process. Presses & Equipment: I have a C&P Pilot at home and work on a Vandercook 219 in the studio. I've used a variety of other small platens (Kelsey, Sigwalt and Chicago), and have limited experience with a C&P jobber (not sure of the model).
 
Work History: I am a hobbyist. I do work for myself and for friends.
 
Education: MFA, Poetics, BA English. No printing or book art degree (yet).
