How I Got Involved in Letterpress Printing: I worked
as a typesetter in college using phototypesetting equipment, and continued as the industry transitioned to digital. As partner in
a graphic design firm we had the opportunity to get a Vandercook 3 for the price of moving the equipment. We began offering letterpress
printing as part of our services (though it required educating customers at that time). 10 years later I left the business, bought
my own #4 and started Springtide Press. Eventually I attended graduate school at Columbia College Center for Book and Paper Arts.
